Bridgeview Cleaning Tip 17
During Quarantine, Pay Extra Care To Bathrooms – Daily Clean Touch Spots, Switch Out Hand Towels, Clean Toothbrushes And Use Whatever Soap You Have!

The Coronavirus pandemic has not only forced people into a quarantine but has them re-evaluating the way in which they sanitize their home.  However, because of the fact that we are now inside more than ever, some of our cleaning routines need a definite upgrade.  No matter if you live in a sleepy suburb like Bridgeview or a bustling city like Chicago, one of the most important areas we all need to focus on is the bathroom.

Your bathroom is seeing a lot more action during quarantine.  Your family spent a good chunk of their day at work or school using other restrooms and washing hands in multiple places.  Now that the bathroom is pulling double duty, be sure to upgrade your cleaning to reflect this change.

Frequently Clean Touchpoints – Toilet handle, faucet handles, doorknob, light switches – these are all areas constantly touched when the bathroom is in use.  Be sure to clean and sanitize these areas throughout the day.

Bath And Hand Towels – You may be used to changing these out after a few days but, with much more use than usual, you may consider changing them every day or every couple of days.  Be sure to hang wet towels so they dry out properly.

Watch What You Flush – Disinfectant wipes should NOT be flushed down the toilet.  Only toilet paper – ever.  You could cause serious plumbing issues which will cost you heavy in repairs down the line.

Soap Is Soap – Honestly, don’t get caught up on the fact that stores are running out of liquid soap.  Bar soap WILL work just fine and get the job done in the same way.  While you may feel that germs can transfer to the next person, don’t forget that you are still going through the process of cleaning your hands and will be eliminating germs.

Toothbrush Cleanliness – Yep – germs can be spread from your toothbrush.  If you’ve been sick, it’s always wise to toss out your toothbrush and use a new one when you are well again.  Keep spares on hand for just such a circumstance.  Some folks would prefer to clean their toothbrush during quarantine so soak it in a mixture of 1 ounce hydrogen peroxide and 5 ounces of water for about 10 minutes.  After that time, simply rinse the solution off.  Always pour out the cleaning solution after use.

These few simple changes, courtesy of your Bridgeview janitorial service, will go a long way in combating germs and increasing your level of cleanliness.
