Because of their considerable resilience and effectiveness at eliminating bacteria, hospitals have even converted to microfiber cloths, mops and towels. Not all microfibers are created the same so be sure to get some that have 3.1 million fibers per square inch. They last a lot longer – nearly 300 washes – and perform better. Fold the cloth into half and then half again to create eight individual surfaces for cleaning. Try to use one section for each item/area that you clean.
After every use, you should rinse the microfiber cloth with warm to hot water for 15 seconds, or until the water runs clear, to flush out all dirt. Every week, machine wash the cloths but be sure to NEVER use bleach or fabric softener because they can clog or damage fibers. If your cloths start to smell or are less effective when cleaning, boil them in water and 1/4 cup of baking soda for 10 to 15 minutes.
There are many different types of microfiber cloth or cleaning products so make sure to read any directions on the cloth/product to make sure you are following the proper and use procedures.
