When it comes to cleaning, you want to make sure there’s enough light otherwise the dirt will hide from your eye! It’s much easier to see thin layers of dirt in the early morning hours than it is after 3 pm. Make sure you open all of the curtains, blinds or drapes and turn all of the lights on. This will definitely help you nab those dust bunnies before they can fall back into the shadows!
Always clean from the top of a room to the bottom, working your way from the front to the back. The best way to save even more time is to clean the worst thing in the room first (shower in bathroom, stove in kitchen, etc.) and then follow this cleaning path.
You can also work on keeping your dust minimal by reducing clutter and keeping your pets brushed. Vacuum, never sweep, pet hair to reduce debris kicking up into the air. You can also cut dust by keeping your windows closed when it’s high pollen or dust seasons and putting filters on your air inputs. Dust is a major cause of fine layers of dirt falling over your house and can be hard to see in low-lit conditions.
Remember that it doesn’t matter what color your furniture is, the same amount of dust is still collecting. Just because you can’t see the dirt as well on lighter colored materials doesn’t mean it needs to be cleaned any less!
